In 2015, International Yoga day was mooted by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi at the United Nations. In the days leading up to the International Yoga Day on June 21 2017, millions of yoga enthusiasts practiced yoga at popular and historic venues across the world. Our group of yoga warriors (“Yoga Veeras”) from Isha USA stretched beyond New York skyline encouraging people to practice yoga with simple postures. The music we danced to was inspired by Sounds of Isha, Ed Sheeran and Shakira. The “Yoga Veeras” thoroughly enjoyed performing in NYC. For us, this was an offering to the world and to showcase yoga as a “Technology for Wellbeing”. This effort was well received by the public at Times Square NYC, Brooklyn Bridge, and Jersey City.
