What is Meditation?

What is meditation?  The purpose of, if we have to look at the purpose… if you sit in meditation slowly it will become like this: your body’s here, your mind is out there, what is you are somewhere else.  Once these three things are happening separately, once there is a space between you and the body, between you and the mind – this is the end of suffering.

Once the fear of suffering is taken away, only then you will keep your instinct of self-preservation down; otherwise, you won’t keep it down.  As long as the fear of suffering is there, you will not keep the instinct of self-preservation down.

The Seven Chakras And Their Significance

Sadhguru tells us about the chakras or junction points of nadis, and explains the significance of the fundamental seven chakras.

There are too much of chakra talk going on everywhere.  Especially in the West, wherever you go, there are "wheel alignment centers" where they "align" your chakras and this and that.  From yoga studios to chiropractics, everybody is talking about it these days.  That has become the fashion.

At a recent conversation with students of IIT Delhi, Sadhguru fields a question on student stress and dealing with addictions.

Sadhguru discusses the 5 elements of creation and the importance of purifying them within the body.  This purification process, called Bhuta Shuddhi, allows one to get to the root of the karmic imprint.
